Thank you for your interest in living kidney donation. Before we can determine if you are eligible to undergo evaluation as a potential living kidney donor, we must collect some basic health history information about you.
Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability. These should take you about 10-15 minutes to complete. Our living donor nurse coordinator will review your responses and will contact you within 10 business days via the email address that you provide below. This email message will contain information about the living kidney donation process at BIDMC. Please be sure to check your SPAM folder for this message.
If you have any of the following medical conditions you are NOT eligible to be a living kidney donor: diabetes, HIV or are taking two or more medications for high blood pressure. If you do have one of these conditions you will be prompted to end the survey.
Ideally, living donors will have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or below. If you have a BMI greater than 35 you are not eligible for living kidney donation. Potential donors with a BMI between 30-35 may be considered on case by case basis.
If you are a potential donor from a country outside of the United States, we are unable to consider you if you are not an immediate family member.Please talk with your intended recipient about requirements for international donor consideration.
